"Vigilance Awareness Week – 2016" was observed in Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited, Ranchi with the theme "Public participation in promoting Integrity and eradicating Corruption" in a befitting manner from 31.10.2016 to 05.11.2016, as per instructions of the Central Vigilance Commission.
Banners, Posters, Slogans etc. were displayed in a conspicuous manner at all the Prime Locations at the Headquarters Office of HEC Limited, as well as in all the Plants/Units i.e. FFP, HMBP, HMTP, Project Division, Township & Plant Hospital.
The Oath/Pledge to the Director, CVO, GMs and other Senior Officers/Employees at the HEC Headquarters was administered by Sri Avijit Ghosh, CMD on 31.10.2016, while it was administered by Chief of Plants at all the Plants and in Hospital by Advisor (Medical). Employees, contract workers and others participated in it widely.
An In-house Journal, "SPARK-V", compiled by Vigilance Department of HEC Limited containing latest CVC Circulars/Guidelines as well as Vigilance related articles, was released on this occasion by CMD.
Debate/speech competition for Employees & Contract Workers was held at each Plant/units on the topic "Public Participation in Promoting Integrity and Eradicating Corruption" from 31.10.2016 to 05.11.2016. CVO &Vigilance Officers attended the debate/speech competition at each Plant/Unit and also held interactive sessions with the officers/employees present, on the need for vigilance awareness and action to be taken against corrupt practices in the organization.
Drawing/Painting competition on the topic "Corruption Related Issues" was organized for the students of HEC High School and Essay competition on the topic "Public Participation in Eradicating Corruption" was organized.for HEC Training Institute (HTI) students.
Essay competition on the topic "Code of Conduct of a Public Servant in the eyes of Public" was also organized where students of Kairali School, Sector-2, HEC Colony, Ranchi and students of St. Thomas School, Sector -3, HEC Colony, PO- Dhurwa, Ranchi took part.
Large number of Vendors and Suppliers took Integrity Pledge on the Inaugural Day of Vigilance Awareness Week i.e. 31.10.2016 in front of Vigilance Officers and Incharges of Material Management Division of all the Plants & Project Division.
For raising awareness among the citizens against corruption,"Integrity Pledge" was administered to Principal, Teachers and Students of Kairali School, Sector-2, HEC Colony, Ranchi on 03.11.2016 and to the Principal, Teachers and Students of St. Thomas School, Sector -3, HEC Colony, PO- Dhurwa, Ranchi on 04.11.2016.
A program on "Interface of Vigilance with CBI" was organized where CBI official of Anti-Corruption Bureau Ranchi interacted with the Executives and briefed them about the working of CBI and interaction with PSUs. Executives participated in wide numbers and had their queries answered by the CBI Official
A "Valedictory Function" was held on 05.11.2016 at HEC Headquarters, where Prizes of Debate/Essay/Drawing competition etc. was distributed to the participants. Special Prizes were also given to six officers/employees for actively participating in Vigilance Activities.
On this occasion, CVO stressed the need for Transparency, Fairness and Accountability in decision making and need for wider public participation and awareness against corruption.
Wide coverage was given by local media to all the activities held during Vigilance Awareness Week in HEC Ltd., Ranchi.
