27.10.2014 to 01.11.2014 - Vigilance Awareness Week in HEC

"Vigilance Awareness Week" was observed in Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited, Ranchi on the theme of "Combating Corruption – Technology as an Enabler," in a befitting manner from 27.10.14 to 01.11.14, as per instructions of Central Vigilance Commission.

The following activities were organized during the "Vigilance Awareness Week":-

  1. Banners, Posters etc. were displayed in a conspicuous manner at all the Prime Locations at the Headquarters Office of HEC Limited, as well as in all the Plants/Units i.e. FFP, HMBP, HMTP, Project Division & Plant Hospital.
  2. The Oath/Pledge to the Officers/Employees at the HEC Headquarters was administered by Sri Ravindra Verma, Chief Vigilance Officer on 27.10.14, while it was administered by Directors/GMs at all the Plants and Hospital of the Corporation.
  3. An In-house Journal, "SPARK-III," compiled by Vigilance Department of HEC Limited containing latest CVC Circulars/Guidelines as well as Vigilance related articles, was released on this occasion.
  4. Debate/speech competition for Employees was held at each Plant/units on the topic "Eradication of Corruption from Govt. PSUs" from 27.10.14 to 01.11.14. CVO and other Vigilance Officers attended the debate/speech competition at each Plant/Unit and also held interactive sessions with the officers/employees present, on the need for vigilance awareness and action to be taken against corrupt practices in the organization.
  5. Drawing/Painting competition for the students of HEC Schools on "Corruption Related Topic" and Essay competition for HEC Training Institute (HTI) students on the topic of "Eradication of Corruption" were organized on 28.10.14 and 30.10.14 respectively.
  6. A "Valedictory Function" was held on 1st November 2014 at HEC Headquarters, where Prizes of Debate/Essay/Drawing competition etc. were distributed to the participants by Directors/CVO. Special Prizes were also given to four officers/ employees for actively participating in Vigilance Activities.

    Sri Ravindra Verma, Chief Vigilance Officer, HEC Limited, stressed the need for Transparency, Fairness and Accountability in decision making and timely action on the recommendations sent by Vigilance Department in his address to the officers of the Corporation. The officers were also addressed by the Directors, who also instructed them to ensure Transparency, Integrity and Fairness in decision making in the Corporation besides, prompt action on recommendations sent by Vigilance Department.
  7. Wide coverage was given by local media to all the activities held during Vigilance Awareness Week in HEC Ltd., Ranchi.
