31 Oct - 5 Nov 2011: Vigilance Awareness Week in HEC

"Vigilance Awareness Week" was observed in Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited, Ranchi on the theme of "Participative Vigilance", in a befitting manner from 31.10.2011 to 05.11.2011.

The following activities were organized during the vigilance awareness week:-

1. Banners, posters etc. were displayed in a conspicuous manner at prime locations at the Hqrs. office of HEC Limited, as well as in all the Plants/Units - FFP, HMBP, HMTP & Project Division.
2. An Inaugural Function was held at HEC Hqrs. on 31.10.11, where oath/ pledge was administered by Sri G.K. Pillai, CMD, HEC to all the Directors, GMs and other HODs. The messages of Hon'ble President, Vice President, Prime Minister of India and leader of opposition were read out by the Directors/GMs, while the message of Central Vigilance Commissioner was read out by CVO/HEC. Oath/Pledge to all the officers/employees of the Hqrs. office of HEC was administered by Sri Ravindra Verma, CVO/HEC. GMs/HODs administered the oath to the officers/employees of their respective units at FFP, HMBP, HMTP, Hospital etc.
3. A "Compendium of Circulars" compiled by Vigilance Department of HEC Limited containing CVC Circulars/Guidelines as well as Internal Vigilance Circulars was released by Sri G.K. Pillai, CMD, HEC Limited on.31.10.2011.
4. "Vigilance Portal" in HEC's web site containing details of Vigilance Matters, Circulars, Messages etc. was also inaugurated by Sri G.K.Pillai, CMD, HEC Limited on.31.10.2011.
5. A debate/speech competition was held at each plant/units on the topic "Role of Executives in Combating Corruption" from 31.10.11 to 04.11.11 in which officers/employees of HEC participated in large numbers. CVO and other Vigilance Officers attended the debate/speech competition at each plant/unit and also held interactive sessions with the officers/employees present, on the need for vigilance awareness and action to be taken against corrupt practices in the organization.
6. A Meeting was held by CVO with the office bearers of all the unions/associations representing workers, supervisors and officers of HEC Ltd. on 02.11.11. CVO urged them to bring to notice any instance of corrupt practice, wrong doing and violation of rules with malafied intention in the Corporation, for action by vigilance department.
7. An interactive meeting was also held with the various contractors, vendors, suppliers etc. on 03.11.11 to make them aware about vigilance guidelines and to know their problems related to corrupt practices (If any) in the Corporation.
8. The message ( "Pledge") was read out to the Board of Directors by CMD, HEC during Board Meeting held on 28.09.2011 at New Delhi, as per CVC's Circular No. 09/07/11 dated 12.09.11.
9. A "Mock Disciplinary Enquiry" was held at FFP by officers/employees to highlight the problems encountered during disciplinary proceedings. CVO, GM/FFP and other senior officers attended the mock display.
10. A meeting was held at FFP on "Prevention and Action to be taken in case of theft in the Plant" on 04.11.11. The meeting was attended by CVO, GM/FFP and other Senior Officers of FFP and Vigilance Department.
11. A "Valedictory Function" was held on 5th November 2011 at HEC Hqrs. where prizes of debate/speech competition were distributed to the participants and an interactive session on Participative Vigilance was also held, attended by CMD, Directors, GMs, CVO and other senior officers of the Corporation. Special Prizes were given to 10 (ten) officers for actively participating in Vigilance Activities.
12. Wide coverage was given by local media to all the activities held during Vigilance Awareness Week in HEC Ltd., Ranchi.
