Successful Trial run of Krishnashila Coal Handling Plant built by HEC

On successful completion by HEC, the trial run of 4.0 MTPA Krishnashila Coal Handling Plant at Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), Singrauli, was inaugurated by Shri Prabhat Kumar Sinha, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of NCL in the presence of other Directors and senior officials of NCL. Dr. Rana S Chakravarty, Director (Marketing & Production), HEC, congratulated the HEC team who had put their unyielding efforts despite all hindrances.

The order was placed by NCL on HEC for planning, design, engineering, construction, fabrication, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of Coal Handling Plant (CHP) of 4.0 Million Tonne per annum capacity on turn-key basis for value approx. Rs 176 Crores.

The CHP has been designed to receive run of mines (ROM) coal through rear discharge dumpers of 120T capacity. The coal is crushed to (-) 200 mm size through Gyratory Crusher (1600 tph) which is also a supply of HEC. The crushed coal is transferred to Ground Bunker of 15000 MT capacity for intermediate storage. Coal is reclaimed from the Ground Bunker and is stored in a silo of 3000T for loading into the rail rake through 5500 tph rapid loading system.

Apart from the Gyratory Crusher, HEC also manufactured and supplied a 150/30T EOT Crane installed in the CHP. In total, there are seven conveyor galleries forming a network of conveyors of length 1.6 km.
