27.10.2020 - Obervance of "Vigilance Awareness Week - 2020"

Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated every year with an endeavors to promote integrity, probity, transparency and accountability in public life which coincides with the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known to be a man of high integrity.

Observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2020 commenced with the Integrity pledge administered virtually by Chairman cum Managing Director of HEC, Dr Nalin Singhal on 27/10/2020. He guided HEC employees with his valuable thoughts.

Director Finance Ms Arundati Panda, Director Personnel Mr M K Saxena and Director Marketing and production, Dr. Rana S Chakraborty also gave their valuable ideas about Vigilance.

Chief Vigilance Officer of HEC Mr Arbind Prasad in his address described on different facets of vigilance and emphasized to work/discharge their duties as a vigilance officer.

During the Vigilance Awareness Week following major activities were accomplished.

• Essay Competition on the topic "Vigilant India - Prosperous India" was organised for HEC employees.
• A workshop was organised on the topic of "Rules/Processes and Preventive Vigilance". Chief Vigilance Officer and Chief of Personnel Department educated the participants with their in depth knowledge on the subject.
• Debate competition was organised on the subject "Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat" in all three plants and Head Quarter of HEC.
• Webinar was organised with important suppliers of HEC, which was a very fruitful in understanding the point of views of suppliers. Grievances of suppliers were also addressed during webinar.
• Quiz competition was organised for HEC employees, where questionnaire on different aspects of Vigilance was asked.
• "RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS PLEDGE" was administered by Director Finance on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel.
• Essay competition and quiz competition was also organised in schools based in HEC campus for School Children.
• Vigilance March was organised, where all Directors, Chief Vigilance Officer, Officers and Workmen of HEC, Students of HTI and different schools participated.
• Details of the completed activities were widely circulated through twitter, Facebook and print media.

Valedictory Function was organised on 02/11/2020, wherein, Director Finance, Director Personnel, Director Marketing & Production emphasized on importance of accountability, transparency and probity in their addresses.

Chief Vigilance Officer in his address in Valedictory function emphasized for implementation of effective preventive measures to fight corruption and to enhance transparency and accountability in their functioning preventive vigilance based actions are more effective than punitive vigilance and systematic change is always a better way of controlling corruption.
