Ranchi: 26.11.2015: A High Level Delegation from the Czech Republic visited HEC and its three production units on 26th Nov 2015.
The delegation represented by H.E. Jiri Koliba, Deputy Minister of Industry & Trade, H.E. Milan Hovorka, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, Mr. Peter Kulovany, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Industry & Trade, Mr. Miroslav Okrouhly, Advisor of Minister, Ministry of Industry & Trade, Mr. Milan Tous, Head of Economic Section, Embassy of the Czech Republic and, Mr. Igor Ovcacik, Director, Czech Export Bank were given a warm and colourful welcome on their arrival at the Headquarters of HEC. The dignitaries offered floral tributes to Gandhiji's statue in HEC Headquarters as soon as they arrived. The welcome ceremony performed by girl students of HEC High School and nurses from the Plant Hospital attired in varied costumes depicting the cultural heritage of India provided the right ambience in gladly receiving the dignitaries. After a brief presentation on HEC the delegation visited the three plants which was followed by extensive discussions with the management at Headquarters.
Earlier the visiting representatives of Czech Republic, as members of the Joint Working Group, held extensive discussion in Mumbai with the Secretary, Dept of Heavy Industries GoI and HEC Management under the leadership of Shri Avijit Ghosh,CMD, on 24th Nov 2015. It pertained to technology transfer, modernization, training and planned refurbishing of old plant and machinery of Czech origin. HEC has decades long Czech connection as two of its operating units - Foundry Forge Plant & Heavy Machine Tool Plant were set up under the technical collaboration of Czechoslovakia. Heavy machine building plant was, however, established under the technical collaboration of USSR.
